Tandem Bank has announced the appointment of Stephen Jones as chair to lead the bank into its next stage of growth.
Jones is currently executive chair of investment banking at Panmure Liberum, an independent investment bank based in the UK.
He previously worked as an executive director at Santander for four years and held senior roles at Barclays. Jones also served as chief executive of UK Finance.
Jones succeeds Paul Pester, who steps down after three years in the role. During his tenure, Pester oversaw the integration of Tandem and Oplo.
Tandem also announced that Clive Kornitzer will join the board as an independent non-executive director.
He has over 30 years’ commercial experience, including more than 20 years at board level. Kornitzer most recently served as group chief operating officer at OSB Group and has held senior roles at Santander and OneSavings Bank.
Kornitzer replaces Matthew Donaldson, who steps down after nearly four years in the role.
“I’m delighted we’re announcing a strong series of appointments to Tandem’s board, underlining the exciting future that lies ahead for the business,” said Neil Chandler, chief executive of Tandem Bank.
“With a talented leadership team and an experienced board driving strategy, Tandem is set to accelerate into its next chapter of growth in 2026.”
