HSBC has launched HSBCnio on 29 September 2026, a digital transaction banking solution designed to let corporate and institutional clients access banking services through their existing channels, platforms and workflows.
The bank said HSBCnio combines web and mobile access, embedded connectivity and artificial intelligence tools in a single digital solution, allowing clients to view cash positions and transactions, manage trade loans and foreign exchange, and track payments.
Amber Henderson-Smart, global head of client connectivity at HSBC, said: “HSBCnio is designed around the way our clients run their businesses, giving them one digital solution with multiple ways to bank based on their preferences.”
HSBC said the platform provides application programming interfaces (APIs) that allow banking services, data and intelligence to be integrated into clients’ own systems and workflows. It includes API documentation, software development kits and a sandbox intended to reduce the work required to move integrations from development into production.
The solution includes AI-enabled access through HSBC’s Model Context Protocol, allowing clients’ own AI tools to query authorised account and transaction information. HSBC said this will help treasury teams find and interpret banking data more quickly while maintaining existing permissions and controls.
Henderson-Smart said: “The new solution brings transaction banking capabilities into the channels and workflows that clients use today, while helping them integrate AI through secure, permissioned access to their banking information.”
HSBC said HSBCnio is intended to address the fragmented systems and workflows used by treasury teams operating across multiple markets. The bank said the platform can reduce operational friction, support automation and provide more timely information for decision-making.
HSBC plans to expand the platform with additional transaction banking capabilities and AI-enabled experiences, including Ask HSBC, which is designed to allow clients to query and interpret their banking information through an AI interface.
Henderson-Smart added HSBC is investing in the technology and platforms needed to serve customers more effectively, with the bank intending to use AI to help clients compare products and explore a wider range of options. The availability and features of HSBCnio will vary according to market and client configuration, the company has confirmed.
