ClearBank hires head of digital assets strategy

ClearBank has appointed Jonny Fry as head of digital assets strategy.

Fry is currently chief executive of the news and advisory service TeamBlockchain which publishes Digital Bytes. He is also chairman at GemCap Ltd., which is the majority owner of a fund administration company based in Dublin and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.

Additionally, Fry is non-executive director of TURN, a blockchain-powered reporting platform for the asset management industry, and was previously chief executive of Premier Asset Management Plc which he founded, grew and listed.

In his new role Fry will work with the leadership team to develop and implement the bank’s strategy surrounding digital assets.

“Jonny brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to ClearBank and will be pivotal in helping the business navigate the shifts we’re seeing in this dynamic and fast-moving area," said Charles McManus, group chief executive at ClearBank. “Over the last year we’ve witnessed a flight to quality in the digital assets space. That is digital asset companies not only want the best technology and the best services, but a banking partner that can ensure they operate at the highest regulatory standards.”
