VocaLink names new CEO

David Yates will take over as CEO at payments processor, VocaLink, in January. Replacing Marion King, who was at the helm for nine years, he joins from Western Union where he was president of business development and innovation.

Yates was responsible for overseeing its electronic channels, prepaid, global top-up and loyalty businesses as well as leading Western Union's Business Payments Sector. He comments: "I am extremely pleased to be joining a company that is at the heart of payments innovation. I look forward to guiding our strategy to bring smarter payment solutions to international markets, as well as leading our continued focus on meeting the commercial needs of our customers."

Sir John Gieve, chairman at VocaLink, says: "David's appointment comes at a significant time in the company's growth. He brings extensive business development experience that will support our future objectives and I look forward to seeing David lead the organisation to further commercial success."
