UBI Banca International has deployed SEPA payments processing systems from Fundtech. The bank, located in Luxembourg, becomes Fundtech’s 34th SEPA client. It is using PAYplus FTS for SEPA and SWIFT payments in both its home country and Germany, and says it has plans for further expansion.
According to Sonja Colli, chief operating officer at UBI Banca: “The PAYplus FTS solution has made it easy for us to extend our payments infrastructure to include SEPA.”

Payments upgraded for SEPA DD + other payments news The SIX Group, the Swiss financial market infrastructure provider, is now offering a Single Euro Payments Area-compatible Direct Debit service for Swiss clients and others across the continent. Launched in cooperation with the SECB Swiss Euro Clearing Bank, Frankfurt, it starts on 2 November 2009, in readiness for the official unveiling of SEPA DD. The original launch date has, of course, been called into question by the French SEPA Committee's decision to announce a year-long delay but the jockeying for position in the payments space is still continuing as various competitors hunt for volume.
