RBS launches Blackberry Playbook app

Digital agency Float has worked with the RBS Global Banking and Markets team to create an app on the new US launched Blackberry Playbook. The app has been developed to offer clients instant access to FICC commentary and strategy reports while on the move.

The first iteration allows users to view and comment on RBS market research and sort views by trends or lists. The app’s built-in algorithm identifies clients’ defined interests and viewing history to present the most relevant research and strategy to them. Float founder, Dan Bladon, says: “Creating an application for a device that hadn’t yet launched was an exciting challenge. As such we adhered to best practice for touch based interaction and delivered this project within a tight but exhilarating seven weeks. It was important to get upto speed very quickly on the project whilst working up detailed and appropriate architecture and design for this intuitive and useful application.”

“Float were a pleasure to deal with and provided innovative and inspiring thinking for the UX and design of our PlayBook application. They helped us deliver a game changing product,” comments Dave Pit, programme manager, RBS Global Banking and Markets.
