Monitise has developed new iPad apps for NatWest and RBS. The launch marks the first banking app for an iPad from a High Street outfit.

Customers can transfer money, check out balances and latest transactions, and get a quick quote using the built in loan calculator. They can also find their nearest cash machine or branch using GPS or local search; and top up their pre-paid mobile account.

Monitise chief executive, Alastair Lukies, says: “As a global, trusted developer of mobile banking, payments and commerce services, we are delighted to welcome the launch of these new apps. Providing convenient, simple and helpful mobile money technology and applications for our partners and clients is at the heart of our collaborative, integrated network approach.”

“Banks are benefiting from a wave of innovation in mobile money with, for example, the latest technology offering real-time money transfers, smarter alerts, branch locators and interactive messaging. These are all creating new ways for banks to engage with their customers. Monitise is proud to be involved in such a dynamic mobile money space,” he says.
