Chu quits Citi for LivingSocial

LivingSocial has named Dickson Chu as senior VP for merchant solutions.

Chu has quit as managing director of digital networks in Citi’s global enterprise payments unit to join the daily deals venture. He joined Citi two years ago from PayPal where he worked in product strategy and development. At LivingSocial, Chu will head up the development and promotion of products and services to local merchants.

"LivingSocial has direct relationships with tens of thousands of local merchants around the world, giving us a tremendous opportunity to help our merchant partners improve their businesses through innovative marketing and customer management tools," says Tim O'Shaughnessy, CEO at LivingSocial. "Dickson brings a deep background in developing vital business services for merchants, and we believe he is the ideal leader for a new division within LivingSocial dedicated to the creation of the next generation of local merchant solutions.”
