Speaker profile: Scott Doerr

Scott Doerr has spent his career on one thing, making cybersecurity make sense to the people who have to decide what to do about it. As founder of ForeGuard Advisory Group and a fractional CISO, he works alongside executive teams and boards to translate technical risk into the business terms they already use, such as ROI, NPV, operational resilience, and regulatory exposure. That perspective comes from more than 26 years inside the rooms where those decisions get made. In banking and financial services, Scott has served as Vice President and Information Security Officer and held senior executive security and technology risk roles, guiding institutions through regulatory scrutiny, third-party risk, and board-level security decisions. In healthcare, he served as Virtual CISO and Executive Advisor to seven organizations at once, guiding more than $9 million in annual cybersecurity investment and running incident response exercises across 20-plus operational functions. That’s the kind of work that shows up not in a compliance report, but in whether a hospital can keep treating patients when the network goes down. Scott is also a thought leader in the industry, speaking at healthcare and cybersecurity conferences, live radio interviews, executive roundtables, and writing on topics like ransomware resilience, cyber insurance economics, and how boards should think about cyber risk. That perspective is increasingly extending into AI governance, helping leadership teams adopt AI without trading away security or trust.
