Data is the fuel powering today’s financial services ecosystem. The ability to convert it into competitive advantage securely and at speed is shaping up to be the next battle ground for customer acquisition, retention and market share.

But with the changes required by regulations such as GDPR and MiFID II, along with the technological demands of digital transformation, many businesses are struggling to keep pace with their more nimble rivals. For legacy institutions, their longstanding relationships with customers - and the historic data management systems that control them - are both a fundamental strength and a data burden.

Data is all too often locked in large mission critical applications. Development lifecycles are often long and resource intensive, taking weeks or even months to upgrade, while data sets can remain out of reach for the people who need them most, due to organisational silos, cumbersome security risks and manual or paper-based processes. As a result, ensuring teams have access to the right data, in real-time is now business critical.

This roundtable will offer companies from across the financial services sector the chance to discuss what it takes to become a data-driven organisation, highlighting the challenges experienced, the solutions found and the strategies adopted to remain ahead of the competition.
