Speaker Profile: Hellen Beveridge

Hellen Beveridge is Head of AI Governance & Ethics at AXA UK & Ireland. She has spent much of her career working at the point where technology, regulation and organisational reality collide, first in privacy and data responsibility and now in AI. At AXA, she leads first-line AI governance across the UK and Ireland businesses, with a particular focus on turning responsible AI principles into something that can actually be used by people making real decisions about real systems. Before joining AXA, Hellen led global Responsible AI governance delivery at Cognizant. Her background spans governance, privacy, technology law and organisational change, and she has an LLM specialising in AI and technology law. She is particularly interested in what happens after the frameworks have been written: how organisations make AI governance workable, proportionate and useful when reality inevitably refuses to behave quite as neatly as the policy suggests.
