JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) has appointed Mark O'Donovan as its head of human resources, according to a memo seen by Reuters.
O’Donovan is currently chief executive of international consumer banking, a position he has held for just over one year. He has spent over three decades at the bank, having previously worked as chief financial officer for JPMC’s commercial and investment bank.
Prior to this, he held the positions of chief executive at Chase Auto from 2016 to 2020 and chief executive of Chase Home Lending from 2020 until 2024.
For his new role, O’Donovan will move from London to New York. He replaces Robin Leopold, an experienced human resources director who has served in the role since 2018. Leopold joined JPMC in 2010 from Citi, where she headed up human resources at for over 21 years.
Reuters quoted Jamie Dimon as stating that Leopold will retire in the first quarter of 2027, and paying tribute for her handling of the bank’s workforce during the pandemic.
Daniel Llano Manibardo, who is currently head of international consumer banking for Germany, is set to succeed O’Donovan in his role.
JPMC is undergoing significant change in its senior ranks, having named Doug Petno and Troy Rohrbaugh co-presidents of the company in June. Its chief executive Jamie Dimon could also be on the way out, with sources having told Reuters in July that after over 20 years in the role Dimon is laying out a legitimate timetable for his departure.
