The Neoview data warehouse solution from HP is being updated to provide financial institutions with broader and quicker access to operational business intelligence. According to the manufacturer, the new Skewbuster and Transporter tools, which respectively act as a traffic co-ordinator for data, preventing bottlenecks, and extracts data from a warehouse as it is loaded, enabling real-time processes, both contribute towards faster operational speeds, allowing sales agents to offer the best products and inbound data to be analysed for fraud

An in-built Adaptive Segmentation tool also automatically matches the appropriate resources to various sizes and types of queries, claim the manufacturers. This means the updated Neoview offering can simultaneously handle mixed workloads of massive queries, as typically deployed by business analysts reviewing an operation, while also dealing with thousands of short, transaction-like queries, enhancing real-time performance.

• BusinessObjects is also seeking to improve its BI offering by adding its new Predictive Work Bench data mining tool to its XI 3.0 product, with the aim of increasing its analytical power.
