Aviva updates systems as NU brand diesAs its name changes, Aviva (formerly Norwich Union) is launching a new website for brokers (www.aviva.co.uk/brokers) and an online trading platform, Fast Trade. The new website will provide simpler navigation and improved quote facilities, cover and documentation services and replaces www.nuebroking.co.uk. It also provides improved product information and an online claims management capability, says the insurer Fast Trade, the online quote and buy facility for small business insurance, replaces the old Norwich Union commercial e-services system, providing a quicker end-to-end procedure, claims Aviva. “Fast Trade will make it much simpler to transact business and get instant access to documentation,” says John Kennedy, director of business development at Aviva. The newly-renamed insurer is also installing Lombardi’s TeamWorks business process management (BPM) software to improve its global procedures and aid integration under the new brand. The Lombardi Blueprint Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) process documentation tool will also be deployed to the same aim. The Teamworks package will be used to manage Aviva’s Human Resources employee Joiners, Movers and Leavers (JML) process, amongst other things. “Our new Teamworks-based procedure will help us to create a more joined up and efficient way of managing our people across Aviva’s group centre. It’s a crucial resource for our business and will let managers spend more of their time on value-add activities,” says Deirdre Galvin, business director to the chief executive at Aviva UK. The Lombardi Blueprint SaaS offering is being deployed to map and refine Aviva’s IT Quality Management System (QMS) in the UK general insurance business. To date, approximately one hundred people across disparate locations are using the wiki-like tool to document the process in near real-time. Blueprint helps the company to collect a wider set of input and comments from a broader set of Subject Matter Experts, ensuring that the effort is completed with a greater level of control and speed. Globally, it is also being used on a number of other projects and products to further integration and efficiency at the insurer. |
