Outstanding Contribution to the Industry by an Individual:
Winner: Rob Close, CEO of CLS Group
Previously group payments strategy director for Barclays Bank,
Rob has also sat on the boards of SWIFT, BACS and CHAPS. In his
present position at CLS he is responsible for adding new currencies
to the global settlement engine for foreign exchange and for introducing
NDF functionality to the system. Looking ahead, as FX becomes more
and more of an asset class in its own right, it looks certain that
Rob will continue to be busy so for work to come, and his contribution
to the industry up until now, Rob is truly a deserving winner of
our individual award.
