2008 Financial Sector Technology Awards Winners

The FST Awards 2008 were held on 27 March in the Nine Kings Suite of the Royal Lancaster Hotel, Lancaster Terrace, London, in front of a sold out audience consisting of the key IT decision-makers from within banks, building societies, insurers, investment houses and other financial institutions. The category winners on the night were as follows:

Outstanding Contribution to the Industry by an Individual:

Winner: Rob Close, CEO of CLS Group

Previously group payments strategy director for Barclays Bank, Rob has also sat on the boards of SWIFT, BACS and CHAPS. In his present position at CLS he is responsible for adding new currencies to the global settlement engine for foreign exchange and for introducing NDF functionality to the system. Looking ahead, as FX becomes more and more of an asset class in its own right, it looks certain that Rob will continue to be busy so for work to come, and his contribution to the industry up until now, Rob is truly a deserving winner of our individual award.
